Stash Busting week25

Here is my report!! Been missing for a couple weeks, but I had to buy fabric for my Goose blks. Plus I needed the charm pks for making the D9P quilt top that is still on my wall..... had better work on that so it's not hanging there tomorrow for the design wall show 'n tell!!!

For those that wanted to see my sewing room - here are a few pictures:

This is taken from the front of my sewing table -

basically the center of the room, and this is the door that lets you in. This is my new spot for my design wall!! Instead of hiding my closet, it now is against the wall.......

I do like it better here.

I did not move from where I stood, but just moved the camera to show you the next corner..........

Oh, I lied!! this is the place I sew.... To the left of me is project ideas, DVD's, audio books, CD's - it's my entertainment area. It's a little bookshelf under the bulliten board that is covered with things. okay, next picture please!!

this is my sewing area - I can now watch normal TV or shows on quilting that I have on DVD (or a movie if I want!!)

I know some people that can't sew with noise around. Me, I concentrate better with it!!!

Here is the other corner!!

Here is my little library of books that interest me. It's mostly qulting, but I do have gardening books in there too. And my new TV and DVD player - well, new additons to the room anyway!!

And this is my room.
Not very big, too full of things, but it's working for me. yes, I have (BIG) dreams of another space to create in, but this is mine for now. And I like it, as messy as it is......

this really messing looking part here, well it used to be hidden with the design wall!!! It looks worse than it is, but I really am having trouble getting it to fit in here nicely. I didn't realize how much stuff I had collected over the years till iwas told to have it in one room.... I won't show you the boxes in the hallway that holds my cross sitch stuff.............

June 15 - What is on My Design Wall today?

Well, I have not done my 'Stash Report' this week, and I should have considering I have bought fabric. I will make sure to report next week. But the - "What is Your Design Wall" made me want to post this!! I am working on my D9P - and this is where I stopped yesterday. Most of the blks are sewn, and once I have cut them all size, I will sew them together.

Here is the progress so far on my Disappering 9 Patch!!

I am starting a Disappearing Patch!!

I have literally fallen in love with Northcott's
"Stonehenge" fabrics. That is the one I had to have a big chunk of when I first saw it!!! Well, when you buy a charm pack, you get a taste of all 36 colours!!
I bought two packs - and made myself 8, 9-patches out of it. I decided that was not enough for decent throw for my couch, so today I have come home with 2 more charm packs!! And after these are made into 9 patches, I am going to make them disappear!!!
There was no rhyme or reason to why I put the colors where they went, I just put two together and let them go where they wanted. They all go together so well, and it does not matter who goes where 'cause they are all going to be mixed up anyway!!!
I think it is going to be so pretty!!
So, this is my newest project!! Don't ask how I am doing with the other ones!! This was not supposed to jump to the front of the line - but I just had to see them all done up.
And if I can find a table, I am taking my little machine outside and I am also going to start sewing on Bonnie Hunters "Christmas Lights" mystery quilt that she has in the Quiltmaker July/August '09 magazine that is out there right now!!!
I am using my big machine for the 9 patch, and I have heard you shouldn't mix up machines when you are sewing things, they each have their own personal 1/4" and sometimes don't play well with each other. I also do not want my Stonehedge fabrics outside - they could get dirty!!! Or loose one somehow!!! ;-)
But a mystery?? Who's gonna know!!
Hmmm, I shouldn't say 'sew' (but it could happen!!) I need to do some cutting first, and that's as easy to do outside as in - And I have spent way to much time in the house this year - I am going out to do my crafting!! Here is to the hot sunny weather that I love. And because it's been so dry, I've been watering a little tree in the park across the road that I have decided to adopt with this drought we are going through!! We need some rain desperatly, but I sure do love the hot days....... Summer is amost here - no more frost!!! Please!?!?!!! ;-) lol!

"Start Your Christmas Projects Now"

On my Fon's and Porter perpetual calendar that I have, for June 5, it's says : "Start your Christmas projects now."

Well, I haven't done that, but I have spent most of the day working on my Goose blks, and now I am at the stage where I am putting them together. Next month - I mean, ahem, in 10 days, I will be getting the border how to's, and then it's a done top. And, soon, a quilt top.

I am going to be doing the Bonnie Hunter mystery christmas quilt that can be found in the latest Quiltmaker magazine. It's a 3 step mystery, and it will take the place of my Goose blks. I am going to be doing it all out of Christmas or fabrics that make you think 'winter'. I can already see the instucitons in step one seem to be missing a step, but that's not a problem. I like mysterys and I usually have all the 'how-to's' before I do it, and that is not the same. So, I will be working on this one, and have a throw for my couch this Christmas.
(I need to make a correction here!!! thanks to Sandie, I have 'found' the missing step!! I didn't see the 'c' blks in the cutting instrucions.... how I missed it I have no clue, but I did!! So, what I thought wasn't there, is there, under the cutting plans. I couldn't figure out why it didn't tell you to cut unit 2 in half to create the 'c' blk!!!! uh, because they tell you to do that in the cutting part of the page!! duh!! Thanks Sandie!!!)

Okay, I am going to go have supper and watch a movie. It is Friday. Have a glorious weekend. We have rain and all my plants are in the house!! It is chilly out there!! lol Bye!

Come see my house!!

I just though I would show you a picture of my house - the before and after shots.
This one, with the grass and basketball hoop, is before...... Hubby wanted a place to park his 5th wheel, so he created the 'after' picture.
He saw these photo's a couple weeks ago, and even though he didn't say it, I think he wished he had not done this to the yard. But done is done, and life goes on.
I have my 'garden' in pots all along the front of the house and some I have put onto the wood on the new driveway. This is where I sit when I am in the sun. The backyard, which needs to have the grade fixed because everything is sloped towards the house, has no grass. So, out here is where I am staying till we fix the grade and build a deck!!
I have been playing in the sun, since we finally got some!! I have a container garden going outside, that has had to come in because of frost warning, if you can believe that!! It's wierd that it's hot and sunny during the day, and frost warning's at night?!? Oh, well, my plants have come through okay, but the corn I planted does have some yellow on it's leaves so.......

I have also been cooking!! Hubby is working from home, so I have been trying to make sure he has good lunches, and nice stuff for dinner. He normally works away from home, so this is nice. One recipe I have just found and make today is 'Stuffed Beef and Cheddar Burgers'. I put them together and they are right now freezing to use at a later date. Especially with it being summer, I love having burgers in the freezer to pull out and BBQ later. I also like having meals in the feezer for when I forget to think about dinner and suddenly it's supper time!!!

I have had my sister come and visit for a couple days. It was nice. We have not had time to just hang out for - well, forever. I used to live with her when I was 18. So this visit was very nice. Brought back memories and had some good laughs!! We will be doing it again, very soon!!

And the stray kitty is still here. I guess we are okay to have as pets, so he'll stick around. He has caught mice, which I like and unfortunatly, birds too. Only one that I know of, but still...... He is actually a good cat. He has not used my flower beds as a litter box or got into things he shouldn't....... hmmmm..... I like that!!

So, that is what I have been up to. And I have not been reading blogs or blogging so I have some catching up to do!! Since I think rain in the forcast, if I am not sewing, which I am planning on doing, (since I have not been!!!) I will be catching up with all my friends and taking pics of my sewing room so you can see how small it is. But I am not complaining!!! I am not in the basement anymore and I have a TV!!! Talk to you all soon!!! And have a great weekend!!
