BOM blk

I did my very easy Block of the Month last night. It took about 20 minutes to sew together - I had it cut out the night before, and it's a nice easy blk. Sometimes simple is nice. And these blks I am liking. I just might do something with these blks!!!! No, I will do something with them - no maybe about it. Changing habits is what it is all about for me this year, and finishing is a huge habit that I will create.

Here is my blk!!!

See, simple!! The owner of the store fought breast cancer a couple years ago, and wants to go back to the basics. And not have a hard blk to create for herself and for us!! It's nice - no applique and fussy stuff, blks I really don't like. These, some of the patterns I could see making a quilt from!! And, I like the easy, quick, part!! I can get it done in the sewing time I have alloted to myself.

And, all my bought fabrics have been washed - so nothing to stop me now from making my guild challange blks!!

See Myra!! Picture!!!!

Stash Busting week 11

Okay, I changed my numbers!!

Stash - 168 1/8
Old Stash Counted - 0

Fabric Added - 2 yrds
Fab. added YTD - 15 1/8

Fabric used - 6 1/2 yrds
Fab. used YTD - 22 1/2

Total Stash Count - 164 yrds

(I counted the Stash project with borders because they will be on this week, and I just fudged it with the fractions... so I am going to leave it as 164 yrds stash. I am getting better at the math, but it's not always easy for me......) But I do have pictures!!

Judy's Stash Buster!! It works up very quickly. I am thinking it would make a great car quilt, for those times when you would like to have something to wrap around you, or to sit on (put it folded on a bench and it would be a little softer to sit on it!!) But, lets just get it to the finishing stage before we start to use it!! lol!)

I made more 'Twilight' Blks yesterday! Since each pattern says to make two blks and I do not want the blks the same, on one, I just moved the two colors around - on the other I choose two different fabrics. The one with the orange blks, when I had the two fabrics side by side. they looked really good together, each the same intensity - in the blk, orange took right over!! I was woundering if it would have been that way if I had reversed their order, but oh well, it's done now, and I am not re-doing it!! (she says now........)

Funny, I kinda like the orange blk..... it looks cosmic... (is that a word???!) I am going to leave it....

This coming up week, I am doing my BOM's!! I got my CAM. BOM on Tuesday, and the Goose Tracks one is out today!! So I can go work on that one - at least print it off anyway. I am liking those blks. And I could do my guild ones, (but those blks are just not speaking to me, no desire to work on them.......) and I found my PhD of the flip flops.... thongs - they are thongs!!! But I have to remember not to say that in public!!! So I just might pull that out and work on it because, it's snowing out there again........

Till next week - change that needle, wind some bobbins, and let your self be free!!!!!

More Blks!

I am ready to show you some of the blks I have done this week!! The first are from the "Goose" BOM. I was not sure about the red, wanted it to be a bit darker, but I
really like these blks!!!

And now I have steps 2 & 3 of "Double Delight" done. I could not believe how loooooong these took to make, but I did it!! lol!! And, I used up tiny bits of pinks from my scraps pile - took out all the pinks and used up alot of them for the 9 patches. I have never made blks so small, and mine are a touch smaller than the 3.5" they are supposed to be, but I know that so I can work with it. If you are doing these, remember 'scant' 1/4"!!

I have seen a few of these Double Delight quilts done up and I do like them. This is the first quilt I have used brown on, and I am glad I bought extra because it came in really handy doing the "Foolish Goose Tracks".

And my last blk is another for the "Twilight Quilt" which is the Planet Patchwork '07-'08 BOM that they had "Celestial Migrane". This blk is called 'Twilight' which I thought was neat!!

Now, for this quilt, it also needs a total of 49 smaller stars to go around the bigger ones - so I figue, as I make the big ones, why not throw in a small one or two and then it won't seem like such an ordeal at the end??! So, today, I will be doing laundry, hubby is coming home for the weekend, and it's our 'movie' night (which was supposed to be a special night, but not so much anymore...........) and I am really hoping to find some time to do some work on my guilds BOM's - I was thinking to have made two by the end of today, but probably not...... This housework stuff always gets in the way!! Should do dishes too!!!! Does it ever stop??? (said with a smile!!)

Okay, off to get things done! Have a great Friday night and the best weekend you can!!
